While the old covenant is full of demands, the new covenant is full of supply. John the revelator writes, "and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away." Then he declares “behold I make all things new. And he said unto me, write: these words are true and faithful. He said unto me, it is done. I am alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely”. Perhaps all the former things are passed away, are all of those things that are related to the curse of the old covenant. God is promising these things not just when we get to heaven, but when we realize that we are already new creatures living in the “all things new” era. He declares it is done! Therefore we are living in a finished work. Where we once mourned, we are now comforted. The supply is flowing from a God who is now tabernacled in men. The question is what fountain are you drinking from? If you are drinking from the pure river of the water of life that flows out of the finished work and from a slain Lamb, it should be removing your pain, your tears and everything related to the former covenant of death.
